Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We keep it to what we need to run the business.
1. Who we are
Planning Profits Limited (company number 15752168, registered office 28 Windsor Road, London N7 6JG) is responsible for your personal information. This makes us the "data controller". For any privacy question or request, email ian@planningforprofit.co.uk.
2. What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if you give it to us, your phone number.
- What you tell us about your projects: site addresses, plans, the councils you're working in and what you're trying to achieve. This includes answers you give on sign-up forms.
- Order details: what you've bought, when, and how much you paid. Stripe or PayPal process your card and payment details, and we never see your full card number.
- Call recordings: if you book a call, we may record it so you can keep a copy. We'll tell you at the start of the call.
- Membership group: if you join our WhatsApp group, the other members and WhatsApp will see your phone number and your messages.
- Website usage: which pages you visit, where you came from (for example, an ad or an email) and basic information about your device. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
3. Why we use it
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Deliver what you've bought: reviews, calls, membership, courses and support | To perform our contract with you |
| Take payment and keep accounting and tax records | Contract, and our legal obligations |
| Send you emails about planning, our webinars and our products | Our legitimate interests, or your consent where the law requires it. You can unsubscribe from any email. |
| Understand which pages, ads and emails work, and improve them | Our legitimate interests, and your consent for cookies that aren't essential |
| Show you our adverts on Facebook and Instagram | Your consent |
We don't sell your personal information.
4. Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who handle data on our behalf:
- SamCart: checkout and orders
- Stripe and PayPal: payment processing
- AWeber: email lists and newsletters
- Google: website analytics (Google Analytics), and storing form responses and business documents (Google Workspace)
- Meta: measuring and targeting our Facebook and Instagram adverts
- Vidalytics: hosting the videos on our pages
- Netlify: website hosting
- WhatsApp and our video-call provider: member support and calls
We may also share information with our accountants and professional advisers, or where the law requires us to.
5. Transfers outside the UK
Several of these providers are based in the United States. We also work remotely, so your information may be accessed from outside the UK. Whenever your data leaves the UK, it's protected by safeguards the UK recognises, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK's approved standard contract clauses.
6. Cookies
Our website uses:
- Google Analytics cookies, to count visits and see how people use our pages
- the Meta pixel, to measure our Facebook and Instagram adverts and show them to the right people
- a small record in your browser that remembers which ad or email first brought you to our site, for up to 90 days, so we know which of our marketing works
- cookies set by our checkout, video and email-form providers, which they need to work properly
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and control ads from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
7. How long we keep it
- Customer and order records: six years after your last purchase, as UK tax law requires
- Project information and call recordings: for as long as you're a customer, and for up to two years afterwards so we can answer follow-up questions. After that, we delete them.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
- Website analytics: for the periods set by Google and Meta, usually up to 14 months for Google Analytics
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- have it corrected
- have it deleted
- object to how we use it, or restrict it
- have it transferred to another provider
You can also withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email us and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also email our customers.
